What customers say?

“ I love the ramen here! The broth isn’t too salty—just right. I really enjoyed it. You must try the gyoza—they’re soft on the inside and perfectly crunchy on the outside. ”

“ Ramens were super tasty, HUGE portions, the koroke was delicious too; very friendly staff! ”

“ This is some of the best Ramen I've had since going to Japan! We got the spicy chashu Ramen with a croquette and it was all perfect. The Ramen had the perfect amount of spice and flavor, and the croquette was crispy on the outside and nice and soft on the inside. I highly recommend everyone coming here to get some ramen! ”

“ I've been to a lot of ramen joints in Japan. I'll give it a 4. Good service is what makes it a 4. This is my first time to give a tip in a ramen restaurant but hey, things are different in Hawaii vs Japan :) the portions are good. They also allowed me to share my food to my kid . That's generally a no-no in Japan as every person has to order 1 food each there. Food was tasty, but is a little different to what I've been used to. So yeah solid 4. You can't really tell the difference unless you're Japanese :) the tables were also very nice! Great ambiance . My advise is to not compare Japan vs Hawaii like what I am doing. ”

“ The gyoza was good. Had to order seconds. The fried chicken was good. I saw this guy on YouTube rate their shio ramen a 10/10. It was alright. If you like ramen on the bland side. The shoyu was better. The miso was better. ”

“ Anytime I hear or see the word "Michelin" associated with any restaurant, I get all excited especially if they're located near me. This was the case with Baikohken, a chain of ramen shops from Hokkaido with a handful of international locations including this location in Waikiki. My impetuous reading had me thinking they were awarded a Michelin STAR, but turns out it was a Michelin PLATE rating, a brand new category born in 2016 to award restaurants that "simply serve good food". Still prestigious but nothing like obtaining a star. ATMOSPHERE: Located in the former Waikiki Yokocho now known as Stix, seating is very limited. The place was clean and organized. MENU: Ramen, cold ramen, rice bowls, apps, beer, sake, whiskey. FOOD: Gyoza The five pork-filled dumplings had thin wrappers that could've been seared more but had great taste. No gyoza sauce was available but you can make your own creation with the table condiments of shoyu, chili oil and vinegar. Shoyu Ramen So this was the infamous broth that garnered them a Michelin Plate mention. The combined dual broths of "animal & seafood essences" (pork & chicken bones with dried fish & seaweed) made for a beefy-porky-shoyu taste that had a subtle medium depth; definitely in my top five of best shoyu broths. The curly noodles were perfectly chewy and plentiful. Standard toppings were shoyu-soaked chashu that were a bit tough, and shoyu-soaked "huge" bamboo shoots which were way thicker and softer than your mainstream version. I added bean sprouts that were mixed with white onions and minced pork, and a halved ajitama. Highly recommended for the shoyu broth fan. SERVICE: The server quickly cleared and clean the area for us and got us started. Food delivery was quick and we were checked on throughout our meal. Greetings and farewells were plentiful in the Japanese tradition. OVERALL: Do they deserved the Michelin Plate rating? I'd say yes as the three items we had were really good. ”

“ Inside of the Asian STIX food court I really like this ramen place. My husband and I have gone several times and each time we try something different and it is always sooo good. The staff are really friendly. The wait isn't long at all. We have gone for both lunch and dinner service. I definitely recommend this place. ”

“ This little spot was perfect after a long travel day from Colorado. This was our first stop upon arriving to Waikīkī. The miso ramen was good. The atmosphere was nice, and the decor added a unique touch. The staff was very friendly! ”
